Adam Clayton crowned MSS Player of the Year

After hundreds of votes were cast, the midfield enforcer Adam Clayton was crowned MSS Player of the Year for 2015/16 season.

Adam Clayton was a hit with MSS Members after turning in performance after performance for Boro during the 2015/16 season. Adam claimed a whopping 66% of the vote from members and was delighted to be presented with the trophy in preseason.

“Obviously it’s a really nice feeling to get praise from the stands and to win an award,” he told

“I can’t wait to get it home and show the missus and the family. Of course, they’re the ones that watch every week and if you get their appreciation then you must be doing something right.”
Adam wants to carry on the good feeling into Boro’s return to the Premier League.
“If the people who are paying to come and watch are voting for you then things are good. It’s a really nice feeling, I’m getting praise from each stand so far and that’s really good so I just want to keep going.”

Teessiders set for Wembley Final!

Teesside is set for more glory this weekend as both Middlesbrough Supporters South football teams have reached the final of the APFSCIL plate competition.

The match, which will take place at Wembley FC’s Vale Farm ground (capacity of 2,450), is due to kick off at 11am this Sunday, 15th May.

MSS1, who are managed by Craig Williams, have had a successful season so far and are currently fighting for a runners-up place in the league. However, the manager was wary of the players being overcome by the big occasion, “Hopefully the big stage of Wembley, the TV cameras and the presence of Premier League scouts doesn’t distract my lads and we can chalk-up a 3rd victory over MSS3 this season. However they are a great side on their day and can match anyone in our league so it’s going to be a tough battle.”

However, it won’t be so easy against an MSS3 side that are currently battling against relegation in the same league. Their manager, Dave Southgate said “It’s great to have two Boro teams fighting for the APFSCIL Plate- we can’t wait. It will be a tough game for both sides and I really can’t call it. Regardless of the result, it’s the best possible end to the season and I just want to thank all of the lads for their hard work throughout the season.”

APFSCIL is The Association of Provincial Football Supporters’ Clubs in London. It was formed in the mid-seventies and has grown from a handful of supporters’ groups to a 42-member body, representing thousands of football supporters with roots spread across the country.
